Prayer Shawls Provide Comfort and Hope to People in Crisis
If you would like to make a shawl for someone in need, please e-mail Lucille Miller by clicking on her name. You may also simply drop by the church on third Sundays at 2 pm. While knitters appreciate the fellowship of gathering together, if you are not able to come, Lucillecan give you instructions and materials to knit a shawl at home.
"Shawls ... made for centuries universal and embracing,
symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God.
They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace,
mother, hug, shelter and beautify.
Those who have received these shawls have been
uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to
fly above their troubles..."

Shawl Ministry Prayers * Shawl Knitting Instructions

It is amazing how meaningful the gift of a prayer shawl is for someone who is ill, grief-stricken or in crisis. People in our church knit shawls with a simple, prayerful and spiritually meaningful process. Each recipient receives a special written prayer along with the shawl. Because these gifts convey God's unconditional love, there is no charge.
