We Seek to be Mission Central in Suffield and Beyond

war_79

Part of our Mission Statement at Second Baptist is to be

"a community of faith

embracing God's Justice and love for all...

We welcome all who join us in worship,

education, mission, and service

in the name of Christ."

The mission field is one place where the inclusive and just love of the Gospel combines worship, education, mission and service all in one. For over two-hundred years our church has reached out to the least in our world. We continue to do this through our actions, for Saint Francis of Assisi once said, "Proclaim the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary." At Second Baptist you will find us involved in ministries of love, service and justice locally, domestically and internationally. We partner with the Suffield Interfaith Council, the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut, ABCUSA National Ministries and International Ministries. Whether it's through our Soup Kitchen meal for homeless people in Springfield every second Saturday of the month, local "Random Acts of Kindness," our Outreach Ministries, Suffield Emergency Aid, Habitat for Humanity in Hartford (CT) and Springfield (MA). We have sent a short term missionary, Lucille Miller from our church to teach knitting through The Jubilee Market in Calcutta, India and we support ABCUSA Missionary Kristy Engel in the Dominican Republic; we also have an annual youth and adult trip to the Dominican Republic. Whether locally, domestically or globally, we invite you to become involved in the just and merciful work of the Gospel for all people.

Please see the blogs in this section for a hands-on view of mission.
